All right, stop for a while. I’m a scholarship winner with only 6A1s and 3A2 for my 2006 SPM. Okay, so, it’s only MARA scholar. It’s easy yadda, yadda, yadda you guys say. Oi, wanna know the edge I had? MARA scholarships are one-to-one interviews. Even if you’re acting, it won’t show. PSD scholarships are usually done by GROUP interviews. If you guys are the type that only know what’s on the textbook and find it hard to give an opinion without fearing of being wrong…. then 10A+ or no, you’re gonna have a hard time passing the scholarships and NO USE begging for the bloody scholarship.

Doctors are not that real glamorous. If’ you’re on call, you’ll work from 12 to 48 hours straight. And practically, you’ll have to be somewhat emotionally detached from your patient to make a good diagnosis.

Engineers. My brother was an engineer and I hear him going out to work even when it’s not his shift at 3am in the morning.

What else? Teachers. IT IS NOT AN EASY JOB. I was an observer teacher and apprentice teacher for 2 weeks last January and I can say that it is tiring. Satisfactory for someone who loves to see people understand something they do not. It is also a high stress environment too. Seeing the smiles of success on the students makes it all worth it again.

And what do you know…during my two weeks being an apprentice teacher I also found that those who truly have the passion for what they want to be and the want to succeed have the advantage of being noticeable. I conducted a Mock Interview for 4th form students. You could see those who have the passion and those who do not. It was group interviews and those who actually could attract my attention were those who are able to express themselves. When I asked for their PMR results, whaddya know, most of them were 7As or 6As. Those who truly scored 8As were good, but not memorable enough. In group interviews, being memorable is good enough. And oh, one more thing. Answer any questions posed. And I mean anything. It could even come out of the blue like this question.

“Could women be good engineers?”

I have a real pressure cooker assignment in English Writing 101. NZ Soldiers and the Afghanistan War. Right…now what was that war about again? And then there is the Education assignment which deals with my education experience. I guess this is the time I could vent my spleen about the Malaysian rote learning belief. Gah! Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Want to know why I loved chemistry better than any science subject? Because I actually understood the nasty moles and whatnot. Physics are, however, my worst enemy. Because I keep thinking that I don’t understand it… but I can do the equations. But I do not understand it…

So yeah…assignments are giving me a hard time. But…..

On a lighter note. It’s almost EXAMS. Meaning it’s almost, THE END OF SEMESTER. Woohoo. *dances a jig*. So. now my priorities are…

Get the Ass(s) done and over with.

Study for exams.

Sit for exams.

Relax for a day or two for holidays.

Go off to Northland for a trip. Yay. Hmm…Skydiving, nature trails, horseback riding… or I could stalk all the LotR sets. Uuu. Wonder where they filmed Mt. Doom.

Alhamdulillah, I’ve safely reached Auckland City, Auckland, New Zealand on the 13th of February 2010.

Yes, I know it’s April now. So, I’m really sorry for being tardy in updating my blog. All right, all right. I was lazy…

So yeah, Uni life has been kind to me. As well as a heck of a lot of fun. Well, moving from class to class was not fun but, well, you get the drift. I arrived in Auckland just in time for orientation week. So, if you’ve seen t he pictures in my Facebook then you’ll know how much fun I had with O-week. Scavenger hunts, theme parks, going to the observatory at night….pyjama party (well, movie night anyway)…

Now, I’m currently on Easter break. I went to Rotorua, Taupo and around Wellington City. Middle Earth never looked better. The journey has a real trip. Tiring, boring and nauseating (this is due to the mountainous highway that resembles Malaysia’s very own Bukit Putus or Cameron Highlands…with a lot less cars).

I’m lazy right now…but stay tuned for updates for I will update soon.

For those who are wondering about my sanity regarding this issue…well let’s just say I’ve been using an obsolete laptop and desktop for years. As my friend said, my old laptop (which was, as usual, a hand-me-down) should be at the bottom of the sea or recycled. A 10 year-old COMPAQ laptop. Heavy, big and had a problem with the hinges. As much as I love and appreciate it’s duty to me for years… I love seeing I have a new laptop.

My new laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1440, purple. Nice and professional looking…just hope my packrat tendencies would be curbed for a while.

In other news, I’ll be in Langkawi for 2 weeks and another 2 weeks in Pendang for my Summer School this January. Wish me luck.

All right, *squeal, squeal squeal* rejoice my girl friends because I’ve suddenly become interested in celebrities. Or in this case, celebrity. May I introduce – as if he needs one – Mr. Jamie Campbell Bower from Sweeney Todd and New Moon.

Why have I’ve suddenly become interested in him? Well apart from that blasted ‘Johanna‘ song that played in my head for over a month after watching Sweeney Todd, he’s a pretty good actor. A great voice (although reminds me of a high-pitched someone at times) .  This is one guy I watch out because he’s an actor first…cute guy second. He did not even say much in New Moon but his facial expressions were great. Did he go to theater school or something? I dunno…

And, yes, he’s cute. But my dear friends, I have a partiality for guys with long hair. So sue me…muahahaha. Kinda funny for me to like a celebrity like him when the only few that I’ve actually liked are Johnny Depp (I just loved him in Sleepy Hollow and Edward Scissorshand and I’ve been watching out for his movies since) and Dakota Fanning (‘Come out, come out wherever you are…’ gave me hives that line did and Dreamer was one of my faves).

Weird, eh? A girl who does not really obsess over celebs and stuff? I guess my ‘Barney’ and ‘Sesame Street’ obsession when I was little turned into an obsession for educational TV like Discovery and History International.
